Washington, D.C. finds a Big Read in A Lesson Before Dying

In just a few days, the District of Columbia Public Library will kick off a month-long series of events corresponding with their newest Big Read D.C. selection, Ernest J. Gaines’ A Lesson Before Dying. The program, in correlation with The Big Read by the National Endowment for the Arts, includes book club discussions, online chats with The Washington Post, a showing of the HBO film adaptation of the book and a library exhibit featuring Washington, D.C. in the 1940’s.
